The exposed parts of the station are the two concourse blocks with main entrances. These exposed blocks have strong geometric forms that reflect an appropriate civic dignity. The Concourse Blocks have been arranged symmetrically across the Mall Road forming a significant visual identity as the centre point of new urban design.

The historical nature of the Old Secretariat is acknowledged in the location and form of the station entrances. The entrances are low pavilions with an expressive horizontal roof, acting as a counterpoint to the several formal rows of tall trees between Shamnath Marg and the Old Secretariat.

The entrances are located on areas of open land; a focal point will be created at Exchange Stores.
The vent shaft is a low linear building set back with landscaped frontage.

The above ground rail corridor / interchange building is the main feature in this area. The underground Metro Station is coordinated with the above ground concept.
Four Entrances are located in the parkland to the north, with skylights and vent shafts in the landscaped area.
A landscaped transport integration area is located to the east.
