Click on the Edit menu

Select Preferences

Click on the plus (+) symbol next to the words Mail & Groups, to reveal further options.

Click on Identity and enter the following details (only the setting specified here are essential to this set-up):

Your Name: This should be the name you want to appear on your emails where it says 'From:'

Your Email: Your full email address (e.g. youraddress@___________)

Click on Mail Server and enter the following details:

Mail server user name: Enter the first part of your email address as it appears before the @ symbol (e.g. if your email address is youraddress@___________, then your mail server user name is youraddress

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: ______________

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: _______________

Mail Server type: This should be set to POP3

Click OK to complete the set-up
