Bachelor Degree Courses available in the college are mainly under three areas, namely, Social Sciences including Language and Literature; Commerce and Management and Science and Computer. Part I - English and Second Language is common for most of these courses except that English and French for B.Com., BHM and BBM are adapted to their requirements.

Eligibility

A pass in two-year PU examination of Karnataka State or any other examination recognized as equivalent and fulfillment of any other condition set by the University are the pre-requisites for admission to any of these combinations.

  • Part I:

    • a) English: Part I -English is taught till the end of the Second Year Degree Course. A modern play and an Anthology of Essays, Short Stories and Poems and certain areas of Grammar and Usage form the syllabus for the First Year. A Shakespearean Play, a Novel and a collection of poems are taught in the Second Year apart from exercises in composition. Second Year B.Com students will study a Shakespearean Play and a few poems and will have questions for 50 marks for their English as they have Business English too in their syllabus.

    • b) Language: Christ College offers a number of choices in this area. The languages offered are: Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Sanskrit, Tamil, Urdu and French. The University rules provide Additional English as a viable option for those students who have not studied any of the Indian languages.

Rules and Regulations for Bachelor Degree Courses


RULES OF ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWALS

  1. Applications for admission must be made in the prescribed form available from the college office.

  2. The duly filled in application form, has to be sent to the principal, so as to reach him soon after the publication of the PUC examination results of PU Board  of Karnataka state.

  3. In case an application is favorably considered, a list of provisionally selected candidates will be published on the college notice board, in website and an interview card will be given to the applicant assigning a date for an interview with the Principal.


  4. During the interview, the applicant for the DEGREE course should produce, besides the interview card, the following certificates,

    1. Transfer Certificate from the College last attended.

    2. SSLC / PUC or equivalent marks card.

    3. Conduct Certificate.

    4. Migration Certificate in the case of students from outside the state.

    5. Three stamp size photographs.


  5. Additional documents in case of foreign students:

    1. Valid Passport

    2. Valid Student VISA

    3. AIDS Clearance Certificate


  6. Immediately after the interview, the candidate, if selected, will be enrolled forthwith, on payment of the fees prescribed. All admissions are subjected to the approval of the University/PU Board.

  7. BBM, BHM have a few specific admission procedures apart from the above.
FEE REGULATIONS

  1. The fees shall be paid for the full year on the day of admission. Fees once paid will not be refunded.

  2. The fee shall be remitted in the South Indian Bank Christ College Extension Counter for which the students shall obtain a challan from the college office.

  3. After the payment of fees, the students should keep the "Students Copy" of the challan for future reference.

  4. Absence with or without leave from the college shall not be an excuse for non-payment of fees on the prescribed date.

  5. A student joining the college after the commencement of the academic year will have to pay the full fees for the year.

  6. Students are expected to pay fees for the next higher class and to clear all their arrears including fine and breakage damages etc. before collecting the admission ticket for the University examination.
