The Twinning Concept


Twinning is an innovative educational concept, which widens the scope of educational opportunity and access for students to study abroad by allowing them to complete the first one or two years of their foreign degree programme at a local college, such as Christ College in Bangalore, India. They then proceed to complete the remaining years of their studies at the affiliated foreign University.
Western Michigan University


ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION AT CHRIST COLLEGE

The entry requirements to this Christ College - Western Michigan University program are established by Western Michigan University. A pass in Pre-University / XII std with minimum 55% marks aggregate. Mathematics as a subject at Pre-University / XII std is desirable for B.S.(Comp)admission. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects at Pre-University / XII std is necessary for admission to Engineering.

ELIGIBILITY FOR TRANSFER TO WMU

On completing four semesters at Christ College with minimum grade point average of 2.5 (75%)+ TOEFL & SAT, the student will be allowed to proceed to WMU.

The responsibility of obtaining the visa rests with the student. The college will provide the admission letter and form I-20. The curriculum and evaluation will be done by WMU.

MODE OF ADMISSION

Detailed Prospectus and Application forms can be obtained from Christ College by paying Rs. 600/- at college office or by sending a DD for Rs. 700/- in favour of THE PRINCIPAL, CHRIST COLLEGE, BANGALORE, starting from the first of March. The selection of the candidate will be based on the entrance test and personal interview, held in the month of May.

Classes commence by the middle of July.

The Institutions:

Christ College: Established in 1969 and run by the CMI religious congregation, Christ College offers degree programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce, BHM and B.B.M and also P.G programmes in Management, Computer Science, physics and Sociology, apart from the Pre-University courses.

Western Michigan University: Located in Kalamazoo Michigan U.S.A., it was started in 1903. About 27000 students are enrolled at WMU. It successfully carries out Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in over 150 fields. WMU is one of the premier educational institutions of the U.S.A.

Under the twinning Programme, a student can secure a degree from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, U.S.A by completing two years of study at Christ College, Bangalore, and the remaining two years of study at WMU, U.S.A.

Pondicherry University


ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Admissions to Degree Courses are open to candidates who have passed the Pre-University / Pre-Degree examination of a recognized University or a Higher Secondary, Intermediate or Senior School Certificate examination or any three-year Diploma Course (Polytechnic) conducted by the Central or State Government.

A candidate shall be eligible for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses provided she / he has passed any degree from a recognized University by studying at least 15 years to obtain her / his Bachelor's Degree.

A candidate shall be eligible for admission to Post Graduate Diploma Courses provided she / he has passed any degree from a recognized University or under Open University system. Students continuing their Post Graduate studies also are eligible to join these courses.


Pondicherry University is a Central University established in October 1985, by the Government of India which is fully funded by the University Grant commission.

Christ College has entered into an agreement for a Twinning Programme with Pondicherry University through the Directorate of Distance Education whereby Christ College offers many innovative courses of Pondicherry University. Under this programme a candidate can secure Degree (Graduate and Post Graduate) and Diploma (Post Graduate) from Pondicherry University by studying in Christ College.

The courses offered under the Twinning Programme impart in-depth knowledge in various functional areas of Management and develop skills in various areas of modern corporate world.

  1.  A pass in Pre-University / XII STD with minimum 50% marks aggregate for Under Graduate  Courses.Mathematics is essential for BS degrees.

  2.  A Bachelor's Degree in any field for MBA and MATRM.

  3.  A Bachelor's Degree in Science for MSCS, MSIT and MSTS with 50%  minimum aggregate. 

MODE OF ADMISSION
